Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Green Room (earned.press) collects, how we use it, and who we share it with.
What we collect
- Free reporter match: your email, the description of your company, your website, your stage and what is coming up, along with the ad or link that brought you to the page.
- Accounts: your email, a securely hashed password, your company profile, the reporters you add to outreach, your drafts, and how many credits you use each month.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your email, plan and payment status. We never see or store your card number.
- Forwarded press request emails: if you forward media request alert emails to your private Green Room address, we read them to pull out each journalist request and rank it for your company. Only you see the results, and we keep the requests, not your inbox.
- Help requests: the questions you ask our help assistant and any message you leave for the team, with your email.
- Visit information: pages viewed and actions taken on the site, collected through the advertising tools described below and through small amounts of data stored in your browser to remember things like your last view and the link you arrived from.
How we use it
- To show your reporter matches and run the tools you sign up for.
- To send you emails about your matches and your account. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To answer help requests.
- If you turn on Reporter alerts, to look up new stories by the reporters you matched with and email you a weekly digest. You can turn it off in your account or with the unsubscribe link in any alert.
- To measure and improve our advertising and the site.
Advertising and measurement
We use Meta's Pixel and Conversions API to measure how our ads perform. These tools may collect information about your visit, such as pages viewed and whether you signed up, and share it with Meta. These tools run only on our public pages. The signed-in Green Room app has no ad pixels, and nothing you write or save in it (your profile, pitches, funding details or notes) is shared with ad platforms.
When we send this information from our servers, your email is converted into a scrambled code (a hash) before it is sent. If we run ads on other platforms, such as Google and TikTok, we may use their equivalent tools in the same way. On Google, this includes the Google tag, conversion measurement and enhanced conversions, which send a hashed email so Google can match a signup or purchase to an ad click.
Public journalist requests
Green Room also collects public posts in which journalists ask for sources on public social networks, summarizes them and links back to the original post.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that run Green Room for us, for the purposes above:
- Stripe, for payments.
- Postmark, which sends our account emails and Reporter alerts.
- Anthropic, which provides the AI that writes matches, drafts and help answers from the information you give us.
- Netlify, which hosts the site, and Notion, where account and match records are stored.
- Our email providers, for emails about your matches and account, and for receiving the alert emails you forward to us.
- Meta, and any other ad platform we use, for ad measurement as described above.
Green Room never sends emails or pitches to reporters on your behalf. You decide what to send and send it yourself.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
- Ask us to see, correct or delete your information by leaving a message through Help on any page.
- Limit ad tracking through your browser settings, your Meta ad preferences or Google's My Ad Center.
